ఇఫ్తార్ వేడుకలో Prof. Mohd Khalid Mubashir uz Zafar ప్రసంగం

 

ప్రియమైన అతిథులు, స్నేహితులు, అన్నదమ్ములారా, అక్కచెల్లెండ్లారా,

అస్సలాము అలైకుమ్ వ రహ్మతుల్లాహ్, నమస్కారం, శుభ సాయంత్రం,

ఈ పవిత్రమైన, అపూర్వమైన సందర్బంగా మీ అందరితో కలిసి ఉండటం నా జీవితంలో ఒక గౌరవ క్షణం. ఈ రోజు మనం ఏకంగా కూర్చుని ఇఫ్తార్ చెయ్యడమంటే… ఇది కేవలం భోజనం కాదు—ఇది ఒక సందేశం. మానవత్వానికి, ప్రేమకి, ఐక్యతకి, భిన్నతలో ఏకత్వానికి ఇచ్చే శుభ సందేశం.

రమజాన్ మాసం ముస్లింలకు ఉపవాస మాసం మాత్రమే కాదు; ఇది ఆత్మ పరిశీలనకి, నియంత్రణకి, దైవానుభూతికి ఉపమానంగా నిలుస్తుంది. దీనివల్ల మనం ఆకలి బాధ అర్థం చేసుకుంటాము, దాతృత్వానికి అలవాటు పడతాము, మన గర్వాన్ని తగ్గించుకొని, మానవత్వాన్ని ఆహ్వానిస్తాము.

కానీ ఈ రోజు ప్రత్యేకం ఎందుకంటే ముస్లింలే కాదు—హిందువులు, క్రైస్తవులు, బౌద్ధులు, సిక్కులు… ప్రతి మతానికి చెందిన మన భారతీయ సోదరులు సోదరీమణులు ఈ విందులో భాగమవుతున్నారు. ఇది ఒక పాఠం — మనం భిన్నమయ్యుండవచ్చు, కానీ మన హృదయాలు ఒకటే.

ఖుర్ఆన్ లో అల్లాహ్ అంటాడు:

“ఓ మానవులారా! మేము మిమ్మల్ని ఒక పురుషుడు, ఒక స్త్రీ నుండి సృష్టించాము. మిమ్మల్ని జాతులు, తెగలుగా చేసాము, మీరు ఒకరిని ఒకరు తెలుసుకోడానికి.” (సూరా హుజురాత్ 49:13)

ఈ సందేశం ప్రతి ధర్మ గ్రంథంలో ఉంది—భగవద్గీత, బైబిల్, గురు గ్రంథ్ సాహిబ్, ధమ్మపద — ఇవన్నీ ఒకటే మాట చెబుతున్నాయి:

సత్యం, దయ, సేవ, క్షమ, న్యాయం, ప్రేమ.

ఇఫ్తార్ మేము చేసే ఉపవాసం కేవలం ఆకలికి కాదు. ఇది ద్వేషానికి ఉపవాసం — హృదయాన్ని శుద్ధి చేసే ఉపవాసం. మీరు అందరూ మతపరంగా భిన్నంగా ఉన్నా, మన మనస్సులు ఈ రోజు ఒకటే. మనం కలిసి అన్నం పంచుకుంటున్నాం—అది ప్రేమను పంచుకునే పనిలో ఒక భాగం.

మన భారతదేశం మన సంస్కృతుల చెలిమి నిలయం. ఈ చెలిమిని మనం కాపాడాలి, అభివృద్ధి చేయాలి. మన బంధం పండుగలకే పరిమితం కాకూడదు—మన కష్టాల్లోనూ, సమస్యల్లోనూ మనం కలిసి నిలబడాలి.

ఈ రాత్రి మనందరి కోసం ఒక గుర్తుగా ఉండాలి:

• మతం కంటే మానవత్వం గొప్పది.

• ద్వేషం కంటే ప్రేమ మిన్నది.

• విభజన కంటే ఐక్యత శక్తివంతమైనది.

ఈ ఇఫ్తార్ విందు మనమందరినీ మరింతగా దగ్గరచేయాలని, మన దేశాన్ని శాంతియుతమైన, ఐక్యతతో కూడిన స్నేహపూరిత సమాజంగా మార్చాలన్న ఆశతో ముగుస్తున్నాను. ఈ రమజాన్ మాసం మీకు, మీ కుటుంబాలకు శాంతి, ఆనందం, ఆశీర్వాదాలను తెచ్చిపెట్టాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను

Speech for Interfaith Iftar Party

Respected dignitaries, elders, brothers and sisters, friends from all faiths. 

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, Namaste, Good Evening, and warm greetings to you all.

It gives me immense pleasure and honor to preside over this unique and blessed gathering – a gathering not just of people, but of hearts, of souls, of values, and of shared humanity. Tonight’s Iftar is not just a meal—it is a message. A message of peace, brotherhood, compassion, and unity in diversity.

Ramadan is a month of fasting for Muslims, but more importantly, it is a month of reflection, restraint, and renewal. It is a time when the heart softens, when charity flows, when egos are subdued, and the divine connection is refreshed. But tonight, it is also a celebration of something deeper—our collective conscience as human beings, created by one Creator, though we may call Him by different names.

Fasting in Ramadan teaches us the pain of the hungry, the silence of the suffering, and the joy of sharing. But when people of different faiths come together—as we have today—to break bread, to greet each other with warmth, to smile across religious lines, we elevate this experience to something extraordinary. We embody the message of the Qur’an which says:

“O mankind! We created you from a single pair of male and female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.” (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13)

In this holy month, when Muslims remember the revelation of the Qur’an, we are also reminded of the universal values that echo in every divine scripture—be it the Gita, the Bible, the Guru Granth Sahib, or the Dhammapada:

Truth. Compassion. Service. Forgiveness. Justice. And above all, Love.

India has always been a beautiful mosaic of cultures, beliefs, languages, and faiths. This mosaic becomes even more beautiful when we don’t just tolerate each other, but when we appreciate and celebrate one another. Iftar is one such moment—when our hearts fast from hatred and feast on harmony.

I see before me not just Muslims breaking their fast, but brothers  from every faith breaking barriers.

Let us remember that our differences are not a threat—they are a treasure. Just as the colors of a rainbow or the petals of a flower, diversity adds richness to the garden of humanity. When we live in mutual respect, we build a society where peace is not a slogan but a reality.

Let us pledge tonight:

• That we will stand by each other not only in festivals but also in hardships.

• That we will not let hate divide what love has built.

• That we will speak out for justice, serve the needy, and sow the seeds of kindness—together.

May this gathering be a shining example to the world—that at Kothagudem, people of different faiths can sit together, eat together, laugh together, and rise together.

As we say Bismillah and begin Iftar, I invite you all not just to share the meal, but to share your humanity.

May peace be upon all of you.

May our bonds of brotherhood grow stronger.

And may this night become a blessed memory in the hearts of all who are present here.
